Honoring the 20th Annual Financial Woman of the Year

Carrie DolanFWOTY anniversary logoThe 2015 FWSF Financial Woman of the Year luncheon, held on September 30 at the Westin St. Francis in San Francisco, was a great success and a sold-out event. The energy of over 700 attendees made the support for advancing women in finance palpable.

The honor of Financial Woman of the Year went to Carrie Dolan, Chief Financial Officer of Lending Club. Carrie shared her inspirational story — which left everyone both humbled and stirred. “Stay hungry, stay foolish,” was one of the many lessons Carrie shared with us. Her achievements showed us that practice and hard work get you where you want to be. Carrie’s leadership position and achievements are unique in that they were attained through a quiet competence. As her VP of Finance describes, “it is easy to take risks when you know you can deliver.”

Also leaving us inspired for the future were the moving stories of the 2015 Scholarship Recipients, who were also introduced at the luncheon.
Proceeds from the event go to growing the FWSF Scholarship Fund, which has awarded over $2 million in grants to more than 200 Bay Area women, and which — this year — celebrates 20 years of granting scholarships.
