Carrie ReynoldsFund Development Manager, TMC Community Capital
Please share a little about yourself:
I'm the Fund Development Manager at TMC Community Capital, a nonprofit Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) dedicated to expanding access to capital and opportunity for underserved entrepreneurs across California. I'm passionate about economic equity, community development, and building meaningful partnerships that help small businesses thrive. I especially enjoy connecting with people and organizations that are finding creative ways to make philanthropy and impact investing more accessible and effective.
Outside of work, I'm someone who loves exploring new places, food, and culture. I'm also a huge lover of art and creativity, and I especially enjoy discovering independent galleries, exploring museums, and finding inspiration in the creative communities of the places I visit. I'm naturally curious, enjoy meeting new people, and am always inspired by opportunities to learn, collaborate, and make a positive impact.
What inspired you to join FWSF?
I was inspired to join FWSF because of the opportunity to connect with a community of accomplished, thoughtful women who are passionate about leadership, finance, and creating meaningful change in my community. Working in fund development and community finance, I'm especially interested in building relationships across sectors, learning from different perspectives, and exploring how financial resources can be leveraged for greater social impact. I'm also excited to be part of a network that genuinely values mentorship, collaboration, and supporting women in their professional and personal growth.
What’s your favorite part of FWSF?
As a new member, I'm most looking forward to building meaningful connections with inspiring women across different industries and stages of their careers. I'm especially excited about the networking events, opportunities for mentorship, and learning from women who bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the financial sector. I'm eager to become an active part of such a dynamic and supportive community!
What’s your best career tip for women working in finance or financial services?
Invest in relationships just as much as you invest in developing your skills. Some of the most meaningful opportunities come from genuine connections, collaboration, and being willing to learn from others. Don't be afraid to ask questions, share your perspective, or pursue opportunities that feel outside your comfort zone. And whenever possible, use your experience and influence to open doors for other women along the way.
