Letter from our President, Paige Venable

Paige VenableDear FWSF Members and Friends,

Are you a “change agent” in your community?

If you’re involved with Financial Women of San Francisco (FWSF), you are making a positive impact on others by improving the lives of individuals and communities locally and around the world. So, YES you ARE a “change agent!” This edition features women in our past and present that are admired for their strength, courage, and tenacity. Who is the woman you most admire?

During the past few months, we’ve hosted a number of interactive and intriguing discussions and programs that have punctuated the powerful force of being a “change agent.”

At the Thought Leadership program we examined how to reach our goals by using the technique of back casting; the Fast Lane, Wrong Direction program taught us to redirect our steps by focusing on design, mindset and strategy; and during the Doing Business in China panel we learned about the regulatory, social and economic complexities of not only China, but around the world. Our San Francisco, Silicon Valley and East Bay networking and book club gatherings have also sparked engaging discussions.

Scholarship Program interviews underway

We began first round interviews in early April and second round interviews will be held in late April. Year-over-year, we receive a significant number of applications from various universities around the bay area making the process extremely competitive. We take great pride in our extraordinary scholarship awardees and invite you to come celebrate at the Scholarship Luncheon on June 6, 2017 at The City Club in San Francisco.

22nd Annual FWSF Financial Woman of the Year

Robin L. Washington, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Gilead Sciences, Inc., has been announced as the 2017 FWSF Financial Woman of the Year. Robin is the quintessential “change agent” and we are thrilled to recognize her outstanding leadership and achievement in her various community and finance roles throughout her career. Come meet Robin and congratulate her on this prestigious honor on October 6, 2017 at the Hyatt Regency Embarcadero in San Francisco.

We want to introduce you to the FWSF community
